Upcoming Event Notice – WonderCon

WonderCon is coming up this weekend, and I hope to see many Artsprojekt artists there.  Even though it’s not in its usual location in San Francisco (it’s in Anaheim, CA this year), I’ll definitely be there to talk with artists and spread the word on AP.

I enjoy going to comic convention not only because I enjoy convention exclusives, or seeing all the handmade costumes… I go for the artwork.  For those artists that have never been to a comic convention, artist’s alley is a section at conventions like Comic-Con where artists of all shapes and styles can set up a booth and showcase/sell their artwork, meet fans (gain new ones), and get more exposure.

For any artists that are going to be there, let’s meet up. If you’re an Artsprojekt artist that’s at WonderCon, be sure to send me an email at jessica@artsprojekt.com so I can get you added to the list below, and I’ll be sure to swing by your booth and say hey.

FOR THE LOVE OF TIGER

New works by Martin Hsu  and Andrew Brandou

MUNKY KING MELROSE
Opening reception on February 11th
from 7pm - 10pm.
Show runs through March 11th.

Munky King proudly presents: “For the Love of Tiger” a freewheeling two-person exhibition featuring LA based artists Martin Hsu and Andrew Brandou. The duo has created an amazing show revolving around the upcoming Year of the Tiger and themed on the ever growing issue of tigers as endangered species.

Martin Hsu presents vivid, youthful sceneries draped in colorful, sophisticated hues and informed by his Chinese heritage. Brandou will counter with darker and bolder tones while introducing a new style of vigorous natural elements shaping his abstract tigers. This will be the first time both artists will team up, and we can’t deny our excitement!
