Artsprojekt: What inspires your art?
Kristy Anne Ligones: I don’t have anything in particular, I think I get inspired by everything, random stuff, definitely anything that sticks in my mind for a day or a week, or maybe a line in a movie or a saying.
AP: What is the relationship between technique and content in your work?
Kristy: I try not to overly outdone my content with the techniques, I try to balance them with each other, try not to make it look so amazingly done technically while the content is poor, I try to practice on this, since I more on the technical side than the content of the artwork.

AP: Describe your first experience of making art and how it affected your life’s journey
Kristy: I felt very much satisfied looking at my first ever artwork I’ve done,it was way back in high school, a painting of a cygnet, also known as a baby swan, it was sold, and I didn’t expect that my first finished work will be bought by some stranger, and from that moment on I realized that this could be a good start of my career as an artist.

AP: Describe your most recent experience of making art.
Kristy: Just recently I made a semi-realistic version of the cartoon FamilyGuy, it’s a digital art, vector illustration, I was really having fun making the whole thing, and what made me happier was that I realized I could apply my own style to any cartoon character, I might be making more in 2010.
AP: Take us on a guided tour through a day in your life as an artist
Kristy: Well, I sometimes start my day by getting some endorphins, that is if I’m not lazy waking up early, coffee is my best friend, it helps me get going everyday, touring to some awesome websites to get some inspiration, I start working on my works, if I get lazy I play with my dogs, or if I don’t want to procrastinate, I just listen to some good music to just finish my work along with it.
AP: What do you have going on right now? Anything new that you are working on?
Kristy: I just finished 3 paintings, to be included in the exhibit in California, called The Devil Made Me do it, you can view the updates here http://www.wwagallery.com/Upcoming.html , it opens February this year, I’m also venturing on a new job, soon to be relocated in Dubai, to work as an Illustrator, but I will still be updating personal works from time to time. I just started a series of digital illustration, it’s just a personal work of making semi-realistic versions of some of my favorite cartoon characters, the first series was Family Guy, will be following another series soon. For the meantime please do check my website http://kdlig.com , also go to my Behance site for work updates.
