howdy,
i hope that all is both good and groovy in your world and more importantly that you are staying warm. it’s been 5 degrees in denver the last couple days, which has been nothing but demotivating and numbingly cold. i’m just now getting back to the paintings i laid out before our opening last friday in preparation for my next showing in Boulder.
attached is my favourite piece from this current show and the painted installation that ties together nine smaller pieces that i made for the opening. i have some pretty good photos from the opening itself, but i’m waiting till i have a little more time to clean them up before i upload them. it was a really great opening and between the 6.2 surround sound and actually making an installation, easily my most ambitious one to date. i’m deeply thankful for everyone who showed up and everyone (quite a substantial list of fantastic humans) who helped make it possible. this current show is still up for roughly another two weeks if you didn’t get a chance to see it (though we’ll be momentarily taking it down for a techno celebration this weekend). i’ll also be making a full catalogue of this show before it comes down and uploading it (i’ve recently come to realize that i’m not actually qualified to photograph my own work).
i’ll be hanging some new and not yet seen work as well as some older work (though not that old) at the Laughing Goat in Boulder on the 16th with some unbelievably affordable prices. i’m hoping to have a new series of gicle prints ready for it as well, which unfortunately is contingent on me closing some more sales in this coming week. the opening itself should be pretty mellow and laid back with some very groovy happy hour appropriate techno (flyer attached). if you can make it, i’d be as always absolutely delighted to see you.
in the rest of my world i’m still moving forward on a pair of iphone apps, making new paintings, designing some snowboard graphics, and putting together content for my new wordpress based website (which are all somewhere on the near horizon and pretty exciting).
i hope this email finds you well (or better yet good and groovy) and that if you have any comments, critiques or insight for me i’d gladly accept it and if you happen to be in my neighborhood feel free to stop by,
and thank you again for all the faith, support and encouragement,
-jake
